Pastor’s Words: A Community in Grief
– Rev. Carri Patterson Grindon, Rector of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church
"It was incredibly devastating to see Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Altadena consumed by the fire. The building, which had stood since 1949, was a symbol of our community’s faith since 1906. Learning about the destruction through a photograph was heartbreaking, especially knowing the church was unprotected. My family and I evacuated the night before, when the fire had already reached our neighborhood."
